Every October a group of wonderful people come together for an evening of fun and festivities all while raising awareness and funds for a charity by the name of CHERUBS.

Sure the name doesn’t give you ANY clue as to what this charity does, but once you start researching them and talking to other members, you find out that they are some of the most dedicated volunteers and family members out there. They work endlessly to help raise awareness, garner votes for contests, submit for grants, and bug the hell out of everyone they know for help in ANY way.

And what do they do it for???

Yes, I’ve talked about CDH a lot on my blog, and I will continue to do so because my son was affected by CDH.

Okay, so back on track… OCTOBER? Yeah I started this blog talking about October but I never said WHAT goes on then.  This year it will be held on October 22, 2011 from 6pm – Midnight at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Brier Creek, Raleigh, NC.

Now the main reason for me talking about this ball is first and foremost, to raise money for CDH research. Sure if you live around Raleigh, NC you could definitely go to this formal ball and help them, but what about those that are not around North Carolina?  Well there are ways for you to help also.  This year instead of holding an auction to only those in attendance, they are also opening up a silent auction to anyone in the world.  They have MANY items to choose from including jewelry, vacations and sports memorabilia. So I’ve decided to link you to the auction page and to include some of the prizes up for bid on here so that you are tempted to go bid on some yourself! There are also raffle tickets to win a cruise for two.
